FAQ's

What is the difference between the Humane Society of Kent County and the Kent County Animal Shelter?  We are not affiliated with nor funded by Kent County or any other unit of government.  Click here and learn more at the Kent County Animal Shelter website.

I send money to the Humane Society when I get those mailings from Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).  How much of this money comes to you?  Other than some emergency funds that helped us care for animal victims of Hurricane Katrina, we receive no funding from any national animal welfare organizations - including HSUS.  Sending contributions directly to your local independent Humane Society is the best way to help companion animals in your community.  Click here to read more about the role of HSUS

You can learn more about what we do by reading our quarterly newsletter.  If you wish to be added to the mailing list so that you can receive The Animal Advocate, please contact Mark Petz, Development and Marketing Director at (616) 791-8088 or at mark@hskc.org.
