Why a Transfer of Care
Fee?
It costs
the Humane Society of Kent County an average of $310 to admit,
care for, and find a new home for an animal. These costs
include medical procedures and
daily care for the animal. Because we receive no public funding, your
Transfer of Care Fee is essential to help us care for the animals.
We welcome any additional donation that you are able to make
when you bring us a stray or owned animal. Any
contribution above the minimum Transfer of Care Fee is
considered a tax-deductible donation.
